Brian: I was in class seven when my kidneys collapsed. My father donated one of his to save my life but after seven years it also collapsed. Through well wishers, I was able to go to India for more tests and the doctors realized that my liver had also collapsed so doing another kidney transplant wasn’t going to solve anything. It was tough. We had to come back to Kenya to look for two donors; one for the liver, and another for the kidney. We came and I got the two donors, one was my uncle and the other one had seen my story in media.

We went back to India but the doctors realized that my uncle was sick and he couldn’t give me his kidney. One option was to get another donor, which takes time, resources and is very difficult. The other option was to look for money for my uncle’s treatment and when he had recovered, the transfer would be done.

Through God’s grace, he went through a surgery and recovered. It was now my time to go to theatre, but I became so sick that the doctors could not do the operation. Later, I recovered and I was able to go for the liver transplant and the second kidney transplant. After both transplants, I could not wake up from my bed for days.

The doctors told my mom that the liver had raptured. My mom and my brother could not face it… the second kidney had failed! After several attempts to assist me the doctors were giving up. However, God was in control.

R.I.P Baby Ramsy.
We did our best but God loved you more. Save a life fundraised for baby Ramsy and he went to Germany for heart surgery and came back. He rested one year later in April 2020. Late Baby Ramsy fought a strong battle but now he is with our creator and the angles watching over us.

We thank all who supported this boy both in Germany and back home at Kenyatta hospital.

Githurai City is a youth empowering and sustainability project which is part of our youth empowerment program that equips young people with film making skills. After training for three months, it has taken this class one year to create the sitcom film.

This drama series titled “Githurai city” is a film which highlights the life at Githurai; the good and the ugly side of Githurai. Githurai city is now airing on national TV (UTV) every Monday at 8:00PM.

Save a Life Organisation’s main aim is to empower the youth with skills that they can use to to transform their lives.

Githurai youth have decided to fight Corona Virus through sharing information on preventive measures. #Githuraicity

This is Mr. Evans Wainaina, who Save A Life Organization fundraised for. We managed to buy for him the solar panel and pay his electricity bill which had amounted to 130,000 Kshs. Thanks be to God.

We went to visit him after a month of using the solar panel which powers an oxygen concentrator which helps him breathe due to the absence of lungs, and he is more relaxed now because he is not pressured by the overwhelming power bills. We thank God for the well wishers who supported him.

Mr. Francis Manyara stands out to be counted, his wife left him when poverty striked them. He had to take care of the children alone. This meant providing, cooking, washing their clothes and even taking baby Glory to the washroom and cleaning her.

Baby Glory was born as a Siamese twin but her other twin did not survive and twelve years down the line she has gone for over 10 surgeries and she is calling out to Kenyan’s and other well wishers to save her life by supporting her to meet her medical bills.

What are some of projects that Save a life organisation has organised?

We have a feeding program and an educational program that focuses on issues family planning, drugs and sexuality which aims to bring the children in the streets together and to not only empower them but also create awareness on issues that affect them.

We are also working on a training program that aims to equip the youth with the skills that will enable them to get to change their lives for the better. We mainly train photography and video production in slums and in suburb areas with the aim of transforming the youth by giving them skills in order to create job opportunities.
